Open Source Software is Free to Use

I used to spend so much money on software programs.  Then I found out about Open Source software.  Wikipedia explains, Open source software (OSS) is computer software with its source code made available and licensed with an open source license in which the copyright holder provides the rights to study, change and distribute the software to anyone and for any purpose. Open source software is very often developed in a public, collaborative manner. Open source software is the most prominent example of open source development and often compared to (technically defined) user-generated content or (legally defined) open content movements.”

Use Open Source Software

Again, OSS is free to use.  You can, at times, donate to the development group.

Many projects had been as research in universities.

Note:  Joan Kearns does not warrant or support these programs or their plug-ins. Contact the organization’s website for manuals, tips and any customer services provided.  Having said that, I use quite a few of these programs and like them.  I think you will, too.  I haven’t had any trouble with any of the ones I use and if I did, I would just uninstall it and download it again.

Hope this helps,
